As a high school tutor, I have seen many parents of teens and preteens struggle with deciding which is the best way to help their teen in school.
Plenty of parents feel tired, worn out, and exhausted with the constant battle between supporting their teen in school, and meeting resistance from their teen.
You try so hard!
You try helping your teen with homework
You try to encourage them to study more
You try to help them understand how important their grades are.
You try to help them focus on the benefits of learning
You try everything you can to help, only to be met with an eye roll, ignored, or another battle over homework.
No matter how hard you try, you just don’t feel like you are making any progress, or seeing the fruits of your labor.
I understand how you feel, and you are not alone!
You may feel like you can’t help your teen because you don’t have enough time every day.
You may feel like you aren’t smart enough to help them in a subject that you didn’t pass when you were in high school.
You may feel TOO exhausted to help with homework or schoolwork.
You may feel tired of the fight that you know will happen if you try to encourage them to do more.
You are told that you have to do more.
You are told by your child’s teacher that you need to do more.
Told by your child’s school that it is your responsibility to do more.
And told by all of society that you must do more!
But, let me tell you:
You are enough!
Your work is not in vain. The actions you are taking and the progress you are making are not for nothing!
You may not see the benefits right now, but every bit of your effort counts!
Why?
Because you are making the BEST decision for your child!
No matter what that decision is, you know it is the best for your child. And when you make any effort out of love, support, and benefit of your child, I KNOW it will pay off!
And even though your teen may resist your help now, one day they will look back and realize how much they were blessed to have a parent that cared about them as much as you did!
So keep up the good fight, and keep moving forward, because you are SO CLOSE to the finish line!!
Stay strong, you got this!
